Jim Gaffigan takes concert signal from Louis C.K.
Jim Gaffigans Washington perf February. 25 will air online in April.
Following Louis C.K.'s effective test out do-it-yourself digital distribution, comedian Jim Gaffigan will finance their own standup comedy special and charge $5 for viewing online. Gaffigan will tape the performance February. 25 in Washington, D.C., and also the show is going to be edited for any likely April debut. An end across the "Jim Gaffigan: The America Tour," the concert is going to be created and funded entirely by Gaffigan. He'll donate $1 from each $5 purchase towards the Bob Woodruff Foundation, which supplies assets and support to hurt service people, veterans as well as their families. Louis C.K. offered exactly the same distribution scenario in December. His "Live in the Beacon Theater" concert has since made a lot more than $a million, gold coin that goes straight into his pocket. By 12 ,. 21, the star of FX's "Louie" netted $220,000 after comprising production costs, obligations and bonuses to his staff, and donations to numerous non profit organizations. The brand new business design removes a network, producer along with other middle men expenses, with costs going right to the artist. Obviously, the talent should be a large enough draw to ensure that the quantity gained via downloads is going to be more than production costs. And there is even the concern of video pirating, where audiences steal this program free of charge. Systems for example Comedy Central would still have the ability to air these self-created stand-up special offers afterwards, but comics would get a much more compact license fee than whether it was broadcast on the first-run basis.
